As part of a morning of events in Marquam Nature Park, get some upper and lower body exercise, and help us remove invasive ivy and improve forest health. We will gather at 9:15, walk to the site and spend about an hour pulling ground ivy along the Sunnyside Trail.
The timing will be such that you can also partake in some of the other events that morning. There will be about a quarter mile hike to the site. No experience necessary and children 6 and older welcome with an adult. Please wear long pants and closed-toe/closed-heel sturdy shoes or boots. Water is provided, but we ask that you bring a refillable water bottle. Tools, gloves and snacks will be provided. Prize drawings! Please register.
Parking at Marquam Shelter, and at OHSU Lot 90, at corner of Terwilliger and Sam Jackson Park Rd. Please consider carpooling or taking public transportation (Bus #8).
Attendance: We understand that unexpected situations can arise, but it's crucial for the success of our events that participants keep us updated. If you find yourself unable to attend, we kindly ask that you promptly drop out to allow others the opportunity to participate.
Failure to attend without prior notice not only impacts the smooth functioning of our events but also affects the experience of other participants. Thank you so much for your understanding!
This activity takes place outdoors in the open air, and though participants often pass each other on the narrow trail, we have lots of room to spread out. With that in mind, masks and vaccination are not required for this activity. However we require volunteers to stay home when feeling any symptoms of illness (regardless of COVID-19 test result) and fully support participants’ choice to wear a mask if desired.
