This is a special volunteer opportunity that we need your help in accomplishing! We're working on a restoration project in the Ancient Forest Preserve, and we'd love to have you join!
Join Forest Park Conservancy’s restoration team and learn about Native plants, why volunteering is a critical component of our Land Care plans, and become involved with other passionate nature lovers helping protect our emerging forests.
Over the next few years, we will be reassessing our best practices for the work we are doing, establishing better control methodologies with a focus on training and education, particularly with plant Identification.
Restoration events for the summer will primarily focus on spot weeding in previously planted areas; mitigating non-native species which are encroaching on sensitive habitats throughout the park, and prepping for further restoration work in the Fall/Winter.
We will be meeting at the trailhead of Ancient Forest Preserve.

All participants are expected to wear close-toed shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, and bring any medications they believe they might need. We also ask that all participants be prepared to show proof of vaccination and bring a facial covering for engaging with others--we do not expect volunteers will need to wear masks while volunteering.
Additionally, FPC will continue to abide by the Oregon Health Authority guidelines, and we ask that all participants follow our policy guidelines found here. FPC will make every effort to provide materials and access to our policies to keep participants safe and healthy!
