What: We'll be performing trail maintenance and clearing drains along the Wildwood
Come and join FPC staff and fellow volunteers as we conduct some of our winter trail maintenance. We will be clearing drains and culverts, removing downed branches, and attending to other common rainy-season trail issues as we find them.
You can expect to use a digging tool like a shovel, hoe or pick; and/or a handsaw, depending on need. We will hike about 1-3 miles while stopping intermittently as we come across work to do. There is no experience necessary; staff will teach you everything you need to know. Gloves, water, coffee and light snacks are provided, but please bring a water bottle with you to stay hydrated on the trail.
All participants are expected to wear close-toed shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, and bring any medications they believe they might need. We also ask that all participants be prepared to show proof of vaccination and bring a facial covering for engaging with others--we do not expect volunteers will need to wear masks while volunteering.
Additionally, FPC will continue to abide by the Oregon Health Authority guidelines, and we ask that all participants follow our policy guidelines found here. FPC will make every effort to provide materials and access to our policies to keep participants safe and healthy!
