Brush-a-thon 2026 - Saturday, July 11th, 2026 (Springville Rd)

Expired

Description

Join Forest Park Conservancy's Brush-a-thon 2026

Celebrate Brush-a-thon 2026 with Forest Park Conservancy by helping brush the trails in Forest Park! Together, we'll cut back excess spring vegetation to keep trails safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone while supporting the long-term health of the forest. And once the work is done, we'll keep the celebration going with a post-event volunteer party! Read on for more information.

When: Saturday, July 11th, 9am to 12pm.

Where: Springville Road. Parking is limited. Follow the linked map. Carpooling encouraged!

What:  Removing excess spring growth from the sides of the trails. We will be working on the trails, which requires hiking (up to 3 miles) on uneven terrain and physical labor in the forest (up to 2.5 hours).

Long pants, long socks, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good traction are required for your safety. Long-sleeved shirts and weather-appropriate layers are also recommended. Make sure to bring a water bottle - many folks find it beneficial to bring a small backpack as well. In recent years, Forest Park has seen an uptick in bee activity, if you have any allergies, please bring medications in case of emergency! Training, tools, snacks, Equal Exchange coffee, and work gloves will be provided.

Post-Brush Celebration: After the work party, all Brush-a-thon volunteers are invited to join us from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at Lovett Deconstruction in NW to celebrate an incredible morning of stewardship! Relax, connect with fellow volunteers and Forest Park Conservancy staff, and enjoy a well-earned lunch on us. We'll be serving free Pizzeria Otto pizza, Por Que No chips and salsa, Laughing Planet cookies, Von Ebert beer, Erath wine, and non-alcoholic sparkling water.

For Volunteer Crew Leaders: Brushing course 26
