Forest Park Conservancy is partnering with Portland Parks & Recreation to host our first Early Detection Rapid Response training since 2022.
Every year, PP&R and partners help to monitor the growth season on our public lands, monitoring, tracking, and responding when necessary to noxious weeds that harm the health of the forest.
In this training, we'll highlight a few specific weeds that the city is currently focused on managing, and we'll review ways to track and report these weeds through the spring. We will provide training, in-field identification, and materials to make sure we can support the city in this mission.
With more than 80 miles of trails in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park, keeping track of the health of the trails and forest requires constant attention. Rapid Responders can help us prevent erosion and the spread of invasive species, reporting trail conditions and maintenance concerns—helping us respond quickly to keep the parks safe and accessible.
Join us in protecting and maintaining these beloved parks—sign up today to become a member of the Rapid Response Team!
