This is a trails work party, where FPC will be cutting back the excess spring growth from the sides of the trails in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park to keep the trails safe and navigable and help manage the natural health of the forest.
When: Wednesday, July 23rd, 9am to 12pm.
What: Brushing the excess spring growth from along the sides of the trails in Forest Park. This activity takes place outdoors. We'll be working on the trails, which require hiking (up to 2 miles) and physical labor in the forest using tools (up to 2.5 hours).
Where: Lower Saltzman Trailhead. Parking is limited. Carpooling encouraged!
Preparation: Long pants, long socks, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required for your safety. Long-sleeved shirts and layers for rain/sun are also recommended. Make sure to bring a water bottle - many folks find it beneficial to bring a backpack as well. All training, tools and work gloves will be provided. In recent years, Forest Park has seen an uptick in bee activity, if you have any allergies, please bring medications in case of emergency!
