This is a sign-up for a restoration work party hosted with Portland Parks & Recreation.
When: Friday, February 28th, 2025 from 9am-12pm.
Where: Marquam Nature Park: Broadway Trail, (Parking is limited, carpooling is encouraged!)
Work: Wildfire Risk Reduction
What: Join Portland Parks & Recreation and Forest Park Conservancy for a Wildfire Risk Reduction work party. We will be removing downed wood at Marquam Nature Park off the Broadway trailhead to help reduce the risk of wildfire. No previous experience is necessary, all tools, training, and guidance will be provided.
Preparation: Please wear closed-toe shoes, and long pants, and dress appropriately for the weather. Please also bring a water bottle (we will have a jug for refills). If you usually pack emergency medications such as Epi-Pens to outdoor activities, bring those along just as you normally would. For the safety of staff and other volunteers, please stay home if you are feeling sick.
We provide: Light snacks, coffee/tea, water, gloves, tools, training, and fun!
Activity info: This activity takes place outdoors, where we will be traveling off trail, on uneven surfaces. Requires bending and lifting.
