Description

When: Saturday August 12h, 2023  10 AM - 1 PM

Where: Lower Macleay Park (Parking is limited, carpooling is encourage!)

What: Let's talk about leaves, they are an important part of every plant; bringing nutrients to the plant gives off clean oxygen for us to breathe in. The leaf’s shape and edges all have names and in part goes into identifying what kind of plant it is. Children are given the opportunity to learn about leaf margins by tracing and creating a leaf identification book on shapes and sizes. This is a fun event for those kids that want to learn a little more about the plants around them

Preparation: Please dress in non-restrictive clothing and wear close-toed shoes. You may wish to bring a little water, too.

We Provide: Leaves, arts and crafts supplies, guided hike and loads of fun!

Activity info: All participants must register for the event, which will be capped at 10 students to ensure plenty of supplies and attention to each.

This activity takes place outdoors in the open air, and though participants often pass each other on the narrow trail, we have lots of room to spread out. With that in mind, masks and vaccination are not required for this activity. However, we require volunteers to stay home when feeling any symptoms of illness (regardless of COVID-19 test result) and fully support participants’ choice to wear a mask if desired.
