Description

I’m Lauryn Sanders, and I am a trainee of the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). I will be completing my full certification requirements for ANFT certification by the end of July 2024. I have plans to complete Wilderness First Aid certification training May 26th, 2024. I am enthused to volunteer for the Forest Park Conservancy and be able to provide a service to our community.

Overview
A typical Forest Therapy walk follows a Standard Sequence, which includes an Introduction, Pleasures of Presence, What’s In Motion, Threshold of Connection, Threshold of Incorporation, and Tea Time. The length of the walk can vary, though it is generally about 90 minutes.

The purpose is to allow a person to fully lean into their senses and connect with the natural world with innate curiosity. Participants will engage in various exercises to move from their thinking minds to their sensing bodies. We will engage in some activities that will encourage slowing down the body and mind. Activities will target connecting with the natural world and the environment around us. The final sharing round includes tea
time, which is served with appreciation and incorporation of the land.

Attendance: We understand that unexpected situations can arise, but it's crucial for the success of our events that participants keep us updated. If you find yourself unable to attend, we kindly ask that you promptly drop out to allow others the opportunity to participate.

Failure to attend without prior notice not only impacts the smooth functioning of our events but also affects the experience of other participants. Thank you so much for your understanding!
