Volunteer Opportunities From: Forest Park Conservancy

Volunteer: Brush-a-thon 2026 - Saturday, July 11th, 2026 (Thundercrest)

Join our Brush-a-thon 2026 celebrations with Forest Park Conservancy, where we'll be getting together to brush the trails, cutting back the excess spring growth in Forest Park to keep the trails safe and navigable and help manage the natural health of the forest.

When: Saturday, July 11th, 9am to 12pm.

Where: Thundercrest/Fire Lane 3 TH. Parking is limited; please plan to park in the neighborhood across Skyline Blvd. Follow the linked map. Please mind the traffic on Skyline. Carpooling encouraged!

What:  Removing excess spring growth from the sides of the trails. We will be working on the trails, which requires hiking (up to 3 miles) on uneven terrain and physical labor in the forest (up to 2.5 hours).

Long pants, long socks, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good traction are required for your safety. Long-sleeved shirts and weather appropriate layers are also recommended. Make sure to bring a water bottle - many folks find it beneficial to bring a small backpack as well. In recent years, Forest Park has seen an uptick in bee activity, if you have any allergies, please bring medications in case of emergency! Training, tools, snacks, Equal Exchange coffee, and work gloves will be provided.

For Volunteer Crew Leaders: Brushing course 15
