Join Forest Park Conservancy for a bilingual ecological hike led by Zac Peal, Director of Stewardship. This guided walk will be offered in English and Vietnamese and will explore the unique ecology of Forest Park, including native plants, wildlife habitat, and the important role healthy forests play in our region. Along the way, Zac will share insights about forest restoration, invasive species management, and ongoing stewardship efforts to protect this special natural area. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about local conservation work, and connect with the park in a deeper way.
We will meet at Lower Macleay park. Parking space is limited and please consider carpooling if you can.
About Hike Leader: Zac Peal is the Director of Stewardship at Forest Park Conservancy, where he leads efforts to protect and restore the ecological health of Forest Park. With a strong background in habitat restoration, invasive species management, and volunteer engagement, Zac works closely with community partners and volunteers to care for Portland’s largest natural area. He is passionate about building long-term stewardship strategies that support resilient ecosystems and healthy wildlife habitat. As a hike leader, Zac enjoys helping others deepen their connection to the park by sharing insights about native plants, forest ecology, and the ongoing work needed to keep Forest Park thriving.
